The Tiny Guide to Laser Vein Removal with Dr. Langdon
October 3, 2012
The obvious appearance of facial veins could be unsightly for most individuals. However, latest advancements in technology has made it very easy and convenient for these highly visible blood vessels to actually fade. A Connecticut laser vein removal treatment by Dr. Robert Langdon is one of those highly sought technologies in getting rid of broken capillaries, rosacea, spider hemangiomas and chronic facial redness.
*Individual Results May Vary
How it Works
The heated laser energy targets the pigmented portions of the skin by coagulating the blood inside the vessel causing it to shrink and seal. The coagulated blood and the unsightly vein is often reabsorbed into the bloodstream in 4 to 6 weeks.
Laser vein removal is a very safe procedure. Dr. Langdon and his team are also very qualified to perform such procedure and has undergone the required training to do so. As to the question of the procedure being safe or not, pain levels vary from one person to another. Most individuals who have undergone laser procedures in vein removal report a feeling of “rubber band flicks.” Topical anesthesia may be applied.
Initial Consultation
Initial consultations are conducted by Dr. Langdon to determine your readiness for the laser treatment, explain the entirety of the process, and provide pre and post-procedure care instructions. This is also the best time for you to discuss your personal cosmetic goals, expectations and projected costs.
Side Effects
Common side effects of laser vein removal therapies include swelling, bruising, skin burns and feeling of prickling. However, the more experienced your doctor and aestheticians are, the lesser the chances of these adverse effects occurring.

Preparing for the Procedure
To minimize or reduce the possibility of the aforementioned side effects, it is highly recommended that you avoid the following activities at least 2 to 4 weeks before a laser vein removal procedure:
—topical fake tans and availing the services of solariums
—too much sun exposure without using sunscreen
—use of prescription strength exfoliants
Although laser vein treatments will not minimize the appearance of new facial veins, the reduction of the existing veins could greatly improve the appearance of the area. For more information on laser vein removal in Connecticut, contact Dr. Langdon and the rest of his team today!
