How Much is Qwo®?

February 3, 2022

The dimpled, bumpy appearance of cellulite bothers many people, even those who maintain a healthy lifestyle. Qwo® is a unique injectable that targets the underlying cause of cellulite. For people seeking a minimally invasive, non-surgical way to treat cellulite, Qwo® offers a solution.

What is Qwo®?

FDA-approved Qwo® works to treat cellulite by tackling its underlying causes. People develop cellulite when fibrous bands form under the skin. As the skin becomes thinner with age, these bands can adhere to the skin. These fibrous bands  pull the skin down into a dimple. Qwo® can release these dimples to restore smooth, even skin.

How Much is Qwo®?

Costs for Qwo® range widely depending on your provider, your location, and how many treatment sessions you need, among other factors. RealSelf lists the average cost for full Qwo® treatment at $2950. We can provide you with an accurate estimate during your consultation.

How Does Qwo® Work?

Qwo® works by breaking down the fibrous bands that have caused the appearance of cellulite. These fibrous bands form from collagen, and Qwo® uses enzymes called collagenases that target specific types of collagen. When released from the attachments, the skin will lift, and the dimple will disappear.

Qwo® also improves the distribution of fat under the skin to make the treated area smoother and more even. It stimulates the production of new collagen in the skin, where instead of fibrous bands, it becomes part of the skin’s natural support structure. Over time, new collagen makes skin firmer and more resilient.

What Results Can I Expect from Qwo®?

Most people need three treatment sessions of Qwo®, each spaced three weeks apart. Results become clearly visible within ten weeks, and you will see the treated skin become more even, with fewer dimples and no more uneven areas of fat. Thanks to the ongoing collagen development, your results can continue to improve for several months.

What is Recovery Like From Qwo®?

Most people experience bruising after Qwo® treatment. This bruising will fade over a few weeks, and it should not keep you from resuming your normal activities after your treatment. Some people may notice hardened areas under the skin. These are normal and will resolve on their own as the process continues.

Am I a Good Candidate for Qwo®?

Qwo® currently has FDA approval to treat moderate to severe cellulite in the buttocks of women, so if you meet these criteria, you may be a good candidate. If you have an active infection in the treatment area, you will have this treated before having Qwo®.
