5 Reasons Women Seek a Breast Reduction

August 4, 2021

Having breasts that are too large for your frame can cause many problems. Clothing does not fit properly. You can become incredibly self-conscious in social and professional situations. The physical discomforts include back or neck pain, migraines, skin rashes, and the pain of bra straps that dig into the shoulders. If you experience any of these concerns, Dr. Robert Langdon, founder of The Langdon Center for Laser & Cosmetic Surgery, can help with the no-scar breast reduction.

How Does Breast Reduction Work?

Because traditional breast reductions involve extensive scarring, Dr. Langdon has perfected the no-scar breast reduction for his patients. Typically, larger breasts have more fat, which can be suctioned out using liposuction techniques. Tumescent fluid numbs the breasts and prepares the fatty tissues to be removed.

Next, Dr. Langdon makes a tiny incision through which a micro-cannula is inserted. He moves the cannula gently back and forth, progressively suctioning out the fat cells to shape and reduce the size of the breasts. The incisions are small enough that they generally don’t require sutures. There are far fewer concerns about complications such as bleeding, significant scarring, or loss of sensation that can all be seen after traditional surgical breast reductions. Your breasts are reduced in size and more pleasing in shape, and your recovery time is significantly shortened. In addition, unweighting the breasts can give you a significant lift.

Am I a Good Candidate for Breast Reduction?

5 Reasons Women Seek a Breast Reduction

Relieve Emotional Distress

Having overly large breasts impacts life in so many ways, including relationships, exercise, self-image, and hobbies. By reducing the size of the breasts, you can take control of your life’s narrative and regain confidence in your body image.

Relieve Physical Strain on the Body

Heavy, pendulous breasts put downward pressure on your neck, shoulders, and back. Women with big breasts also slouch to avoid drawing unwanted attention to their chests. The back and neck often take the brunt of the punishment, which can lead to increasing pain. Reducing breast volume significantly relieves strain in the back, shoulders, and neck. After your breast reduction, you will stand taller and more confidently, which improves posture and spinal alignment.

Improve the Condition of the Skin

The skin on the underside of the breasts is delicate. Larger breasts cause this skin to rub together and trap sweat, leading to discomfort, rashes, and even yeast infections. Additionally, the more supportive a bra needs to be, the more likely the straps are to dig into the skin of the shoulders. This can leave deep, painful grooves. Reducing the breasts allows air to circulate, alleviating the trapping of sweat and minimizing the frequency of rashes and infections. Bra straps don’t dig into the skin, and the grooves in the patient’s shoulders have a chance to recover.

Clothing Fits Better

One of the biggest reasons women who have breast reduction consider this the best decision they have made is better fitting clothes. Before the procedure, shopping is a chore. It takes longer to find flattering shirts, and they are often more expensive. After the reduction, shirts that were once unflattering or provocative fit the way their designers intended, which greatly improves a woman’s clothing options.

Self-Image is Restored

The burden of large breasts is quite pervasive, affecting many of your interactions with other people. How much does your chest distract people during conversations? Do they perceive you incorrectly because of your breast size? Do you find yourself hovering in a corner to avoid uncomfortable interactions? With a no-scar breast reduction by Dr. Langdon, these worries can vanish, leaving you free to be yourself both at work and in relationships. The increased confidence alone can be life-changing.

The reduction in my breast area is amazing. It was a quick procedure that resulted with lighter breast and no scars. I am now portioned to my size. It’s great to wear the same size on top as bottom.
