Meet Maria Koursaris, DNP, APRN
“A holistic approach to skincare and wellness, focusing on the whole person, is the secret recipe to a lifetime of beautiful and glowing skin.”
Maria is a 2004 graduate of American International College and holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing. Throughout her undergraduate career and prior, she has always had an inherent passion and love for the art of caring for individuals. This passion has cultivated her fascinating and fulfilling career throughout her over 20 years of patient care experience.
Her career began in the surgical and neuroscience intensive care units at the prestigious Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, CA. After two years on the West Coast, she returned to her roots on the East Coast and accepted a challenging and fulfilling nursing position at Yale-New Haven Hospital (YNHH) in the neuroscience intensive care unit. During her time at YNHH, she continued to grow in her nursing skills throughout the years, and most importantly of all, she had the ability and honor to care for many patients and families facing their most challenging times.
“Take care of your skin, so it can take care of you.”
Her love and respect for the multidimensional, amazing, and complex organ we all share, the skin, began early in her nursing career. As a student nurse, she worked closely with the skin and wound care department at a local hospital. This early interest in skin also led to many years spent studying and caring for patients with skin impairments, such as chronic wounds. She has since worked as a wound care nurse in the outpatient setting for the last few years.
Over the years, she has remained focused on skincare as a whole, as it is the organ that protects all of our inner workings.
Maria had the amazing opportunity to join The Langdon Center for Laser and Cosmetic Surgery in September 2018. Before joining The Langdon Center, Maria held the position of Aesthetic Nurse Specialist, with over seven years of experience in skin rejuvenation, facial injectables, various laser skin treatments for skin and hair reduction, medical microneedling, vein treatment of face and body, and platelet-rich plasma (PRP) treatments for facial rejuvenation and hair restoration.
While developing and improving her aesthetic talent and expertise, Maria has worked in medical spas and physicians’ offices dedicated to skin rejuvenation and overall wellness. She is a 2016 graduate of the Adult Nurse Practitioner Program at Quinnipiac University, receiving her Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP). During her graduate education, Maria had the opportunity to participate in a clinical fellowship with a well-respected local plastic surgeon, further enhancing her knowledge and skills. Throughout her years as an Aesthetic Specialist, Maria has continued to enhance her skills and knowledge base through learning and working with the best in the business.
With her passion for holistic care and love of skin, Maria will take the time to develop an individualized plan for your skin rejuvenation needs. She strives to help her clients look and feel like the refreshed and rejuvenated individuals we all have within us. The beauty of the skin is in its power of renewability. We always have the opportunity for a fresh start.
