Robert Langdon, MD, is triple-board-certified in Dermatology, Cosmetic Surgery, and Facial Cosmetic Surgery. With over three decades of experience, he has perfected many innovative techniques and specializes in low-impact procedures that minimize risks and recovery while maximizing results.

Dr. Langdon performs all procedures with safe, gentle local anesthesia. Many of his procedures use advanced lasers to maximize results. He also uses tumescent liposuction and strategic fat grafting to rejuvenate a patient’s body shape with the least intensive surgery possible.

A graduate of the Oregon Health and Science University School of Medicine, Dr. Langdon completed his residency in dermatology at Yale-New Haven Hospital in 1984. He was certified by the American Board of Dermatology in 1984 and by the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery in 2004 (and re-certified in 2014). Dr. Langdon was a member of the full-time faculty of Yale University School of Medicine, in the Department of Dermatology, from 1984 to 1990.

At Yale, Dr. Langdon conducted clinical research on advanced surgical techniques. With colleagues in Plastic Surgery, he developed a novel skin grafting method that has been adopted around the world. This method was first described in the prestigious British medical journal The Lancet.

In 1990, Dr. Langdon left Yale to pursue more intensive clinical training at the Laser and Dermatology Institute of California in the Los Angeles area. There he learned advanced laser surgery techniques using carbon dioxide and pulsed dye lasers. He also refined his surgical skills for the treatment of skin cancers and for cosmetic improvement.

Dr. Langdon is the author of over 50 scientific publications, including nine book chapters on cosmetic surgery techniques. He has written several chapters in recent surgical textbooks on advanced facial cosmetic surgeries, including minimal incision facelifts, endoscopic brow lifts, and blepharoplasty.

In 2004, Dr. Langdon’s book for patients Understanding Cosmetic Laser Surgery was published. Dr. Langdon’s book is in the permanent collection of the Harvey Cushing and John Hay Whitney Medical Library, the central library of the Yale School of Medicine.

The book covers the basics of laser physics and skin physiology, which apply to all generations of cosmetic lasers. Understanding Cosmetic Laser Surgery explains laser technology and its suitability for many cosmetic surgeries. Topics include physiology of the skin, basics of surgical procedures, preparation for surgery, possible risks, and post-operative recovery. This information is presented in clear, jargon-free language that explains how laser procedures are accomplished without damaging the surrounding skin.

A comprehensive overview that keeps the patient’s perspective in mind, Understanding Cosmetic Laser Surgery is intended for the general reader and those considering this type of elective surgical procedure. Dr. Langdon is a medical staff member of Yale-New Haven Hospital and a Clinical Associate Professor of Dermatology at Yale University School of Medicine. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery and the American Academy of Dermatology. Dr. Langdon is also a member of the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery. His practice is accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC).

Dr. Langdon is a biographee of record in the following official Marquis’ publications: Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in the World, Who’s Who in Medicine and Healthcare, Who’s Who in Science and Engineering, and Who’s Who in the East.

Dr. Langdon was honored to receive the Patients’ Choice Award for the years 2011 through 2018.
