The effects of rosacea, however, go beyond skin deep. In surveys by the National Rosacea Society, more than 76 percent of rosacea patients said their condition had lowered their self-confidence and self-esteem, and 41 percent reported that it had caused them to avoid public contact or cancel social engagements.
Because rosacea can get worse with time, it’s important to get the facts and the right treatment. And, when seeking a treatment for rosacea in Connecticut, look no further than The Langdon Center.
While there is no cure for rosacea, this condition can be controlled. BBL photo facials, like those available at our offices, are considered the gold standard. These rosacea treatments use high intensity pulses of light that penetrate the skin and are absorbed by hemoglobin. Many of the targeted blood vessels coagulate and then disappear. A treatment plan of 3 to 5 photo facials at regular intervals is recommended to maximize results, though improvement can usually be seen after just one session.
